Today was a mix of a grain bake from Avian Organics, some of my frozen chop mix, fresh kale, a bit of China Prairie sprouts, and some bird bread.

Always looks amazing makes me want to eat it

Two days without veggies (work) they do get freeze dry vegetables mix and fruit mix in their foraging draws but I don’t think they hit the same way as fresh
as soon as I put them in their bowls they went straight back in their cages
Courgette baby corn carrots shreds apple and pomegranate green beans

Lots of soaked seed (a mix of a few different blends), chickpea pasta, and some thawed chop. It's a bit corn heavy section apparently lol

Pretty boring this morning, carrots seen to be everyone favorite lately, useing up my corn , broccoli, peas, romaine lettuce and bell peppers. Really need to go shopping and back sprouting.

Koda did work up the nerve to taste it and liked it ! So next time I will get a picture.

Koda man is pretty dramatic about all new foods I offer , he is always what the heck is that even food???!?!?!? Looks at me like I have lost my mind! He reacted the same way with first rice Crispy piece I offered , it makes me laugh, I'm always little man pretty sure you going to love this stuff. Already he is getting braver about coming over to investigate what I'm holding out . His face still so expressive like this doesn't look anything I would call food , but it sure keeps turning out to be good , and often yummy so I'm coming over

My birds got their chop base (carrots, zucchini, broccoli, corn and cucumber) mixed with mashed banana, quinoa, oats, apple and flax+chia seed! Today was their fruit day which they get twice a week!
Is it really okay to feed birds eggs and pancakes? I would love to feed my budgies that but I don't know if that is safe
And recipe for bird bread anyone?
I will get pic tomorrow!

A little bit of egg is okay occasionally. 1 egg lasts my birds about a week. I do occasionally give plain or blueberry pancakes. Once every other month probably as a treat.




I usually use Harrison's or Momma's Birdie Bread mixes. This website has several different bird bread recipes.

Easiest is to start with a healthy flour or pellet base (ancient grains are good for this, like spelt, amaranth, etc). Add an egg and some liquid (I like jarred baby food puree for a veggie boost, 1/2 cup liquid to 2 cups of flour or so) until you get a bread dough consistency, then pop it into the oven at 350F for until baked through, about 30 minutes usually.
