Hi,
Vet visit is booked in 12 hrs so have to cope overnight.
This morning have come to greet my B&G Macaw and she was acting weird, stopped talking no sounds and just sat on perch not moving, mouth slightly open, very lethargic.
She was breathing really weird, only thing I can explain it like is breathing fast like some one having anxiety attack, it's kind of laboured if that makes sense.
No discharge, no sneezing or coughing or clicking.
Offered food and water and didn't take any, had a couple sunflower seeds and maybe 1 walnut piece but that's it, tried to offer more nuts but refused which is odd.
She's just sitting there with eyes closed, sometimes pretending to regurge, hasn't actually vomited.
At times her left wing is drooping and also she trembles every now and then.
Poo is white/offwhite with a little green, a little runny.
She's 3yrs old and never had any health issues.
She's now in my ensuite bathroom on a perch with the heat light on all day and will keep her there overnight.
Any suggestions on what is happening? Could it be an injury or some sickness affecting crop? I have no clue at all. She had a fall off her perch last night really late but didn't check her as she seemed OK, and she doesn't seem to move or anything when I touch her but she won't come to me or anything I have to pick her up, if I lay her on her back she'll stay there.
She usually is lively and noisy, she doesn't let others in my house hold her and today any1 can hold her she doesn't refuse.
Mixed up sugar water today too and syringe dripped it into her mouth she did take some.
Can't sleep and need some advice hopefully some one knows this or has experienced.
Attached photo of her doing the heaving/regurge but nothing comes out
Also attached photo of her wing drooping
And how she looks perched
She just stays there eyes closed and cheeks puffed.
Will attach a photo of her from a couple days ago too.
