Hi, I have a caique that I'm training but not sure about what treats to use. When I trained my dog I would break a treat into 5 pieces so it would last and I can do give it to him in large period of times or a good quantity in one day. However I can't seem to find what would be good to give to my caique that's ok to give a good amount in one day. For example I was giving him tiny pieces of almond but even then just 3 pieces are considered too much because of the fat content. He also doesn't care for millet, he ignores it.
Long story short: What do you guys use for treats when you want to have a training session where you can give birds a handful amount in one day without it harming their health in any way.

Have you tried other seeds, like safflower?

I’d be careful with grapes- they’re hard on the liver and really need to be a very occasional treat only.
