Hi! I sprinkled a pinch of Harrison's flora fauna powder on my bird's food this afternoon. Im wondering does it 'go bad'? Does the food in the dish(mix of pellets/seed) needs to be disposed after a few hours?

If it's dry powder on dry food, it's probably fine all day I would think? If you email them they are usually really responsive!

Good idea, thanks! I sent in a message to Harrison's asking about it. Ill post their answer here if they reply :D

I couldnt find anything online about warnings so Im thinking it should be fine. But idk, with the enzymes and everything in it kinda freaks me out to just let it sit out

Response from Harrisons:

"Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry.

If you are top dressing your birds dry food, I am not sure the Fauna Flora is sticking and therefore being consumed. We recommend top dressing moist food so the Fauna Flora sticks and therefore is consumed.

If it is being applied to moist food, then yes, we would suggest removing that food at the end of the day."

Alright, so, nothing about the powder itself spoiling during the day. And just fresh/wet food rules since that's what I should be using for it anyway :roflmao:

Good stuff! I use this with my birds soft, moist foods or wet veggies. Sticks well, but if they can she'll peas, they won't get much of it.

Freeze the bag you have when not in use. It lasts a very long time. And yes, remove uneaten food after a few hours ie: 2 max in my opinion unless they are fresh veggies, as in whole. If cut up, yup toss in a few hours.

:)
