Located in Arkansas but willing to travel
Moluccan Cockatoo / African Grey / two Green Cheek Conures

Our parrots have been a part of our lives for 10 years, and they have brought us immense joy. We have a dedicated bird room and ensure they receive fresh chop and fruit daily. Their chop bowls are cleaned nightly, and they always have fresh filtered water. Beak and nail trims are part of their regular routine, and we ensure they have access to veterinary care when needed. Their cages are cleaned weekly, and papers are changed every other day.

It is with a heavy heart that I am considering rehoming them. I have come to realize that the time they spend outside their cages and the attention they receive from us falls short of their emotional needs. I want what’s best for them. I strongly believe that an environment where they receive ample attention, stimulation, and access to proper care is essential for their well-being.

I am looking for individuals who have experience with parrots, preferably retired veterinarians or individuals working in vet care who can provide the specialized attention and care these parrots need. I would be open to them finding a home in a veterinary office where their well-being can be closely monitored and they can have access to immediate care. Alternatively, individuals who have proven knowledge and understanding of parrot care will also be considered.

Rehoming these parrots is not a decision I have taken lightly. We will be taking our time to ensure that they go to their forever homes, where their needs will be met with love and dedication. Please note that to ensure their new owners are committed to their well-being, anyone interested in adopting them will be required to sign a legal agreement, which will be overseen by our attorney. Something like you sign if you go through a rescue. I’ve also been directed by multiple rescues to have a rehoming fee.

If you know of anyone who fits the criteria or have advice to offer, I would greatly appreciate your input. These parrots are everything to us, and I want nothing more than to see them thrive in environments that meet their unique needs.

I understand the gravity of this decision and the emotional toll it will take. However, I firmly believe that finding suitable, loving homes or a vet’s office for them would ultimately be in their best interests. Thank you for taking the time to read and understand my situation. Your understanding and guidance are greatly appreciated.

❤Peachy❤
Peachy, our beloved Moluccan Cockatoo, is a 27-year-old female. She is an incredibly loving and affectionate bird who craves a lot of attention. While she has lived with other parrots for over 10 years, Peachy would likely prefer to be the only parrot in her new home. She has a history of picking at her wings and currently has a recurring wound on her neck due to this behavior.

In the past, Peachy has been medicated with both Prozac and meloxicam to address her picking behavior. However, she is currently not on any medication as it had some strange side effects and made her seem like a ‘zombie.’ Despite her challenges, Peachy remains a very affectionate companion. Throughout her life, she has experienced only three homes, with her first owner passing away when she was 16.

Peachy’s ideal home would be one that can provide her with the attention, care, and patience she needs. An environment that promotes mental stimulation, enrichment, and social interaction would greatly benefit her overall well-being.

❤Ruby❤
Ruby, our energetic African Grey, is a 23-year-old parrot full of liveliness. He is remarkably active and loves to keep himself engaged by chewing on wood and boxes. Ruby is known for being a chatty bird, often entertaining those around him with his repertoire of sounds and vocalizations.

One of Ruby’s endearing qualities is his sense of humor. He has a knack for amusing antics that can bring a smile to anyone’s face. Despite his playful nature, Ruby is incredibly kind and sweet, possessing a gentle soul that shines through his interactions.

This goofy boy has a particular weakness for cashews, and you can win his heart with this delightful treat. Ruby’s ideal home would be one that can provide him with plenty of mental and physical stimulation, including appropriate toys and opportunities for exercise.

❤Alfie❤
Alfie, our 11-year-old male Green Cheek Conure, is a special bird who requires a caregiver willing to provide the extra care he needs. It’s important to note that Alfie has special needs due to his scissor beak, which developed from being an escape artist and experiencing a bite from our female Green Cheek Conure. Regular beak trims are necessary to maintain his beak health and ensure he can eat properly.

In addition, Alfie has been experiencing seizures for a few years, which require careful monitoring and attention. Despite these challenges, Alfie’s resilience shines through, and he continues to bring joy to those around him.

One of Alfie’s standout traits is his impressive vocabulary. He has a larger repertoire of words and phrases compared to most Green Cheek Conures. While he can sometimes be nippy, Alfie thrives when he is out with his trusted person, enjoying their companionship and forming a special bond.

Alfie has been a part of our family since he was just 6 months old, and we have witnessed his unique personality and affectionate nature. We believe that Alfie’s ideal home would be with an experienced caregiver who is willing to put in the necessary effort to address his special needs and provide a loving environment.

❤Jasmine❤
Jasmine, affectionately known as ‘Jazzy J,’ is a charming female Green Cheek Conure. While we don’t have an exact age for her, we’ve come to appreciate her delightful personality. Jazzy J has earned her nickname because she absolutely loves to dance, showcasing her joyful and playful nature.

Although she may not have a large vocabulary, Jazzy J expresses herself through adorable chirps and vocalizations. While she can be a little shy at first, she quickly warms up and develops strong bonds with those she trusts.

Similar to her feathered companions, Jazzy J can be nippy at times, but she thrives when she is out with someone she trusts, enjoying their company and forming a deeper connection.

Jazzy J’s ideal home would be with someone who appreciates her unique qualities and is willing to give her the time and patience she needs to feel comfortable and secure. Providing her with an environment that encourages her playful nature and offers opportunities for social interaction would greatly enhance her well-being.

Hello, where are you located and did you find a home for the cockatoo and grey yet?? I have owned greys over the last 20 years and we work in a vet. I was looking for a cockatoo though.
