Hi all, am interested in some foraging ideas for budgie seed and pellets. I have sunflower seeds in a foraging bowl with extruded paper kitty litter. Some variety would be appreciated by my girl Speck if anyone has some ideas.

Huge thankyou. Have just ordered some pet turf to use with budgie seed. Looking at toilet paper too as she loves paper shredding.

You can try using artificial turf grass to scatter seeds onto!

Push them into yucca, sola, or balsa blocks.

There's a couple of a acrylic bird toys that you could use also.

And I also make several :) An example of an easy one:

Thanks very much. Am looking into balsa wood blocks. I am having to teach Speck how to forage but we are getting there. She prefers an easy meal at present so are working on more rewarding options in the long run for both of us. Great ideas!

Speck is now foraging a lot better. She seemed to need me to show her how to rip paper straws so she could get the almond stuffed in the end and pick off bits of courgette and cucumber on her skewer on playstand then she pushed my fingers away and is doing things herself. She is exploring new foraging toys after a few days of getting used to them first.
Thanks for the advice. Have also googled diy cockatiel toys and have come up with some other promising ideas too.
