We took in some budgies recently from another family who couldn't care for them. They gave no information about them at all and I'm hoping to at least have an educated guess about their ages. In a parakeet fb group they were thought to be less than 4-6 months old for the white one and yellow headed one and less than 6 months for the blue.
I was confused though because the white and yellow headed ones came to us with brown ceres. Doesn't that indicate a mature female? Is there any other reason why they may have had brown ceres as babies just a few months old? The lines on the head would have me thinking babies... so I don't know.
First 2 pictures are when we first got them, next 2 are 1 month later (mostly white ceres) and the last 1 (blue) is another from the group. If you can confirm gender just to be sure, I'd appreciate it. I'm assuming all females but is it too early to tell? The blue one has me second guessing because the cere was stark white and turning light blue.
