Ok so my birds are extremely hormonal (explains the egg laying) and i peeked in their cage at around 10:00 pm (because i heard seeb noises) to see AN EGG (i’ve had the birds for 2 years now) not even in the food bowl or smth, just out in the open on the cage floor. cracked, open and completely empty on the inside (aside from a bit of clear white substance drooling out of it veerrrrrrry slowly). The birds’ names were Cherry and Melon, and one of them laid an unfertilised egg. That wasn’t even close to good parenting instincts borbies T-T .
Appearance of egg:
Smaller than my thumb, with a very white colour, as white as the clouds. Half of the egg was cracked, and it is completely empty on the inside. A bit of clear white liquid staining the tissue it is currently on right now.
Context:
Peeking in cage at around 10:00 pm to see an egg on the cage floor, presumably laid from the *HEIGHEST* perch.
What I need help with:
-What should I do with the egg?
-Are my birds okay?
-Will they start laying more eggs?
-I assumed both are female because of their colouring, but am I now just coming to the conclusion that one could be male?
